Basler DECS-100-B11 – Digital Excitation Control System (AVR)

The Basler DECS-100-B11 is a high-performance, microprocessor-based automatic voltage regulator (AVR) designed for brushless synchronous generators up to approximately 5 MW. It features ultra-tight voltage regulation, programmable control modes (AVR, FCR, VAR, PF), soft-start ramping, and full support for paralleling through droop compensation and voltage matching. With built-in RS-232 communications via Basler’s BESTCOMS software, the DECS-100-B11 delivers advanced monitoring, configuration and control in a rugged, encapsulated enclosure—ideal for demanding industrial and power-generation applications.

Key Features:

  • Precise regulation: ~±0.25% from no-load to full-load. 

  • Output: 63 V DC at 7 A continuous (PWM power stage) for exciter field drive. 

  • Sensing input: 100/120 V, 200/240 V, 400/480 V, 600 V AC; single- or three-phase. 

  • Control modes: AVR (voltage regulation), FCR (field current regulation), VAR (reactive power control), PF (power factor control). 

  • Soft-start/voltage build-up from low residual voltage. 

  • Paralleling features: reactive droop compensation, reactive differential, voltage matching for multi-generator systems. Rugged design: Operating temperature –40 °C to +70 °C, fully encapsulated for harsh environments.
