Installation Guide for Atlas Copco Coupling

1. Preparation: Before installation, thoroughly clean the hole and shaft surface to remove dust, anti-rust paint, and any contaminants. Ensure the key fits accurately into the keyway on both the shaft and hub, with the side of the key meeting the required fit and a slight gap at the top for proper balancing.

2. Positioning: The shaft end must not protrude beyond the mounting plate. If necessary, use limit blocks to maintain the correct gap between the mounting plate and shaft shoulder. The shaft can be axially secured with end nuts or plates.

3. Fitting & Lubrication: The coupling should have a transitional fit between the shaft and hole. To facilitate installation, the mounting plate can be slightly heated, and lubricating oil applied to the shaft.

4. Alignment & Final Adjustments: After assembly, the mounting plate must be aligned correctly. Use a dial indicator to check the outer circle and end surface. The runout should not exceed 0.05mm, and for mounting plates with an outer diameter over 250mm or taper hole fittings, an end-face runout of up to 0.08mm is permissible under extreme conditions. If misalignment exceeds these limits, reinstallation is required to ensure optimal performance.
